Robert Anthony De Niro Junior was born on August 17th, 1943 in Manhattan New York to Robert De Niro Sr and Virginia Admiral. When attending the Dramatic Workshop, his acting talent started revealing itself. He then staged plays starting when he was 10 years acting as a Cowardly Lion in the school’s presentation of “The Wizard of Oz”. He continued polishing confidence in his talent as he grew up attending Mc Burney School and Rhodes Preparatory School.
In his career, he has acted on different roles the first being 1965’s ”Three Rooms in Manhattan”. Though he was young, his potential was noted opening up his career. The most notable movies that he acted include The Godfather: Part 2. where he portrayed Vito Corleone, Taxi Driver of 1976 portraying Travis Bickle, The Deer Hunter these were just but the start of his bright future as a movie star who will grow up to inspire millions of young people all over the world.
In the 80s and 90s, Americans were entertained with Award-winning movies like Raging Bull, True Confessions, The King of Comedy, Once Upon a Time in America, Brazil, The Mission, The Untouchables, Midnight Run, Goodfellas, Awakenings, Backdrafts, Cape Fear, all of which kept Americans glued to their screens.
De Niro went on to increase the list of roles that he played but will all this money and fame coming his way, he did not forget about society. He always offers guidance on the directions that the nation, USA, and the world needs to take.
He can confidently lecture leaders on where they went wrong and how they can make it right the way he did on Bill Clinton and now Donald J. Trump. When offering reproaches, he hides nothing in his expressions. This is evident when he was criticizing Donald Trump twice in 2016 and in June 2018.
According to CNN, Robert has been focusing his attention on correcting bad leadership. When he recently received his Screen Actors Guild’s and Golden Globes’ life achievements, his speeches were more directed on personalities than being issue-oriented.
He said that he was duty-bound to talk about politics since he also had a right to do so. In these awards, the topic of discussing politics normally comes up. Speeches commonly have an aspect of rage which to some extent ends up reducing the fan base of these awards. People come from different political affiliations and others might feel offended and leave subscribing to the awards.
Even though people might feel insulted, De Niro states that he is ready to deal with the consequences of losing his fans. To him, it is vital to talk to the leaders by telling them the truth even though it may be insulting.
According to De Niro, we need to put conscience ahead of commerce. The attention that people pay when he acts can be diverted to other significant issues such as abuse of power and inequalities that are evident in society.
People who are criticized by superstars can sometimes dismiss the condemnation while at the same time embracing other celebrities who support them. This shows hypocrisy on their side while exposing the passion and courage of personalities like De Niro and others.
Large companies that sponsor the Awards suffer too. Networks, studios, and franchises that support such celebs do not normally share their views but will ultimately need them. Politically woke stars will enjoy their freedom of speech while making the sponsors uneasy. It is something that the corporate world is coming to terms with.

He has also been honored by the Kennedy Center, Obama gave him the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.
