Steve Bannon Claims He’ll Fight What He Calls “A Political Hit Job Arrest”

Time Magazine Called Steve Bannon “The Great Manipulator”

Time Magazine put Steve Bannon on the cover of its February 3, 2017 edition. The Time’s article was all about Steve being the 2nd most powerful man in the world. President Trump didn’t like the article. Trump didn’t like the fact his former campaign and White House strategist got more attention than he did, according to The Hill.

Steve’s rise to the top of the political ladder started long before he got together with Mr. Trump. Bannon, the former executive of the right-leaning Breitbart News, was a Goldman Sachs investment banker, and U.S. Naval officer as well as Biosphere 2’s executive director before he got involved with Trump. Steve also produced 18 Hollywood films before he decided to jump on Trump’s political bandwagon in 2016.

Mr. Bannon also served on the board of Cambridge Analytica. Cambridge Analytica is the company that was neck-deep in the 2018 Facebook scandal.

Steve doesn’t come from a political family. He grew up in Norfolk, Virginia. He attended a private Catholic high school in Richmond, Virginia before he got his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in urban planning.

He earned a Georgetown University master’s degree in national security studies, and he went to Harvard Business School and earned a master’s degree in business administration.

Steve Still Gets A Royalty From The TV Show Seinfeld

After spending seven years in the Navy, Steve got a job in the merger and acquisitions department of Goldman Sachs. He decided to leave Goldman’s New York office in 1987 to help build the company’s presence in Los Angeles. He became a Goldman vice president, but he left that position to form Bannon and Company, a boutique investment firm that focused on the media industry.

His firm represented Westinghouse Electric when it owned Castle Rock Entertainment. Mr. Bannon helped Westinghouse sell Castle Rock to Ted Turner’s company, Turner Broadcasting. He made a deal to forego his advisor’s fee. Instead, he accepted a financial interest in five TV shows. Seinfeld was one of those TV shows. Jerry’s show was in its third season when the sale went through. Steve still gets a residual check from Seinfeld when reruns of the show air.

In the 1990s, Steve produced 18 films including The Indian Runner starring Sean Penn. He also made a documentary about Ronald Reagan. Reaganomics changed Bannon’s political views. His admiration of Reagan was the catalyst he needed to co-found Breitbart News with Andrew Breitbart.

Breitbart News Gave Bannon The Platform To Air His Alt-Right Opinions

When Andrew Breitbart died in 2012, Bannon took over as the executive chairman of Breitbart News. Steve made sure his alt-right platform was front and center in the anti-establishment movement. In August 2016, Bannon became the chief executive in Donald Trump’s election campaign.

Steve left the Cambridge Analytica’s board and his position at Breitbart News to run Trump’s campaign. In 2016, Steve attended the Trump Towers meeting with Jared Kushner, Don Trump Jr., and Jeff Sessions. The Trumpians met with a Russian lawyer who had close ties with the Kremlin. When Trump won the election, Steve became Trump’s chief White House strategist. But he left that position in 2017 after locking heads with Kushner and Chief of Staff John Kelly.

Bannon Claims His Recent Arrest Is A Hit Job

After Michael Wolf published his book Fire and Fury, Bannon’s relationship with the president went into the toilet. Bannon told Wolf Ivanka is as dumb as a pile of bricks, and he made other comments that made Trump angry. But Bannon continued his alt-right tactics by starting a campaign to raise private money to help build Trump’s border wall. Bannon told the press all money raised would go to wall construction.

But according to the Southern District of New York prosecutors, Bannon and his associates allegedly funneled millions of the $25 million raised for the wall into private accounts that Bannon and his associates owned. Mr. Bannon claims his arrest for money laundering is a political hit job, and he plans to fight the charges. Bannon says he likes to fight. And it looks like the fight to keep himself out of jail may be the most important fight of his life.
