Together with Prince Harry, among other celebrities, Meghan Markle encouraged people to be vaccinated during a New York City concert.
Meghan and Harry appeared on stage at a concert that was held at Central Park. Meghan stressed the importance of the equitable distribution of the vaccine. Harry also talked about the significance of getting vaccinated at the Global Citizen Live event. It was not the first time the two advocated worldwide vaccine equity. They shared the same message at a concert at VAX LIVE they previously attended.
Harry stated during the concert that the distribution of vaccines should not be based on geography and should be distributed equally worldwide. Global Citizen Live event’s objective is to call on the European Union and G7 countries to share at least 1 billion covid-19 vaccines to areas in need. The Duchess of Sussex and Duke previously worked together with the Global Citizen event to campaign for the distribution of vaccines in May at Vax Live.
Vaccine Manufacturing Companies to Share Vaccines Widely
The movement also urged BioNTech, Moderna, and Pfizer to share the mRNA technology with World Health Organization. Some other celebrities that participated in the Global Citizen Live event included Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish, Ricky Martin, Elton John, Shawn Mendes, and others. United States viewed the event live-streamed on YouTube, Apple TV, Twitter, or Global Citizen’s website. In the 24-hour event, Megan also thanked the healthcare members who have helped in the fight against the covid-19 pandemic. He also praised researchers, scientists, public health practitioners, and frontline workers for risking their lives to protect people globally.
Camping For 1 billion Covid-19 Dozes
The Global citizen also involves a campaign to provide 1 billion Covid-19 dozes to those in need. On the other hand, EU and G7 to support the India and South Africa proposal to waive the production of Covid-19 medical tools and vaccines supported by above 100 countries. The Global Citizen also campaign to reduce the hunger crisis by contributing at least $6 billion to provide meals to at least 41 million individuals in areas suffering from starvation.
