Cardi B filed for divorce from the rapper on September 15, stating the couple had ‘irreconcilable differences.’ The news comes amidst rumors that Cardi caught Offset having an extramarital affair -again.
After cutting ties with her husband after an affair in 2018, Cardi B rekindled her marriage with Offset after he apologized on stage during one of his concerts. Time proves this was a mistake, since it is rumored that this is the cause of the split.
Cardi B fans scrutinized the decision to rekindle her romance with Offset. Cardi B replied that she did not like the negativity because Offset was ‘trying.’ Now, it seems that even Cardi B has had a change of heart, not that most of her fans are surprised. Cardi B made headlines when she appeared on reality TV and again later when she released a rap album. This album yieled the hit single ‘Bodak Yellow’ and put Cardi B on the map.
Sources close to the couple say they have lived part from some time now, but both live in Offset’s home state of Georgia. The couple share a two-year-old daughter named Kulture, who Cardi has requested full physical custody of in court documents. Offset visits with his daughter regularly, something that will continue despite the couple no longer together.
Cardi also requested the couple’s assets be split 50/50. There is no word yet who will maintain custody of the home. Cardi B and Offset did not sign a prenuptial agreement before their marriage. It is safe to say this concern is the least worry on either of their minds at this time.
Both Cardi B and Offset posted to their social media accounts the day following the court filing. Cardi B posted promo pics for her new single while Offset chose to post photos of himself spending time together, chilling, with the caption ‘Grinding Never Stops.’
