They say that money talks, and maybe that is why Caitlyn Jenner is off to the Down Under to participate in “Celebrity Big Brother.” The payout is incredible and believed to be around $500,000.
It hasn’t been easy for the trans candidate who faced transphobic abuse while recently attending the Conservative Political Action Conference’s Dallas spinoff, reported MSNBC.com.
What About The Governor’s Race?
Is Caitlyn quitting as a California gubernatorial candidate?
Cali’s recall election against incumbent Governor Gavin Newsome is slated for September 14th. That gives Caitlyn, a Republican, roughly two months to keep delivering her message and campaigning throughout the Golden State.
However, she’s already landed in Australia and is ready to film the popular reality TV show.
Caitlyn, 71, has made no comment about her political aspirations at the moment, but just recently, she was wearing a tee-shirt with the words “Caitlyn for Governor” that she shared on her personal Instagram account. She is still considered a long-shot candidate with merely six percent of support, according to a May survey and has never held elective office.
Could Even Miss The Recall Election
Caitlyn is now in her 14 days of mandatory hotel quarantine in Sydney. In addition, when filming a reality TV show such as “Celebrity Big Brother,” often, the filming can take up to two months.
That means that Caitlyn Jenner could actually miss the recall election she is running in.
The show is being titled “Big Brother VIP” and also includes stars such as Neil Patrick Harris. There are also rumors that former “Vanderpump Rules” star Jax Taylor would be joining the housemates. Sydney Olympic Park is the location for the filming and will get underway in the coming weeks with Sonia Kruger returning as the host.
In earlier announcements, Caitlyn had informed the media that she would be hopping on a bus for a statewide tour in the month before the election. Now, that strategy could be in limbo due to her participation in the show.
Enjoys Popular Name Recognition, So…
Caitlyn doesn’t put much stock into polls, she says and reminds everyone that she has excellent name recognition. She guarantees she’s in the lead for the recall election.
Many Aussie residents are fuming about celebrities being able to fly in and out of their country as Australian borders are supposed to be closed to all but returning citizens.
