Britney Spears’ Family Members Have Lots to Say About Her Conservatorship

Until recently, the issue of conservatorship was seldom mentioned in the news. The ongoing conservatorship that entertainer Britney Spears has been going through for more than a decade, has once again become a major news story.

Since 2008, Britney’s finances and professional decisions have been co-managed by her father and a team of legal and financial experts. Because of recent activity in the conservatorship, many fans of Ms. Spears have been showing their support, as have numerous celebrities and public figures.

A current article on the CNN website takes a look at some recent comments made in court or in public by members of Britney Spear’s family, in regard to the singer’s conservatorship.

Lynne Spears is Britney Spears’ mother. On July 6, she made a request in court that Britney be allowed to choose her own lawyers. Lynne Spears said through her lawyers that Britney can now take care of herself, and is in a different place than when the conservatorship was instituted.

In her statement to the court, Britney Spears’ mother said that since the conservatorship began, her daughter has earned hundreds of millions of dollars. On July 14, a Los Angeles County judge ruled that Britney Spears can choose which legal counsel she wants to represent her.

Jamie Lynn Spears is Britney Spears’ younger sister, and she says she supports and loves her sister one hundred percent. Even if flying to Mars made Britney happy, says Jamie Lynn, she would still support her.

While she may have been largely silent concerning Britney’s conservatorship previously, Jamie Lynn says she was supporting her sister long before social media was in existence.

As for Jamie Spears, Britney’s father, he says he loves and misses his daughter, and the conservatorship demonstrates how he protects and safeguards Britney.

In response to recent allegations from Britney that the conservatorship has been handled poorly, Jamie Spears said on June 30 that his daughter’s allegations should be investigated by the court.

On July 8, Jamie Spears stated in court that because of the conservatorship issue, he and other family members have been receiving death threats for years.
